Which fish is better, fresh or frozen? Let’s look at wild Alaskan salmon.
Juro Kusnir, owner of Alaska Fresh Seafood, argues that frozen wild Alaskan salmon is often fresher than “fresh” fish. Since salmon spoils quickly after being caught, flash-freezing locks in nutrients and texture for months. Many deli-case fillets were previously frozen and thawed for display, making properly frozen salmon the better option. Blast-freezing kills parasites, ensuring safety for raw consumption. Vacuum-packed frozen salmon is the best choice for quality and freshness.
