Between them, Adra and Juro called Cordova, Alaska home for seventeen years. Juro spent thirteen of them at the local processor, working up from the line to running the place, so nothing about a good fish gets past him.
These days they run Alaska Fresh Seafood out of Wisconsin, shipping that same catch to doorsteps across the country.
Here's what that means for the gift you send. Each fish is hand-picked from the net, bled, and iced right there on the boat, then cleaned, portioned, and flash-frozen within hours of the catch. It shows up at the peak it left the water, wild and caught and processed in the USA.
And every box does a little more than feed people. Before the season starts, we front our Cordova crews the loans they need when money's hardest to come by, and we put a share of every sale toward marine research in Prince William Sound. So the gift gives back to the water it came from.
